MODULE 1 - FALL AND REDEMPTION

(Foundations of the Faith)

Welcome, Class! We are so happy that you have chosen to study the Word of God with us at this time. We all have earthly obligations to attend to (and sometimes, we just have distractions). However, sometimes we must do what Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus did, when she took a timeout to learn what the Lord wanted her to learn or to receive understanding about concerning His kingdom in that season of her life; and I commend you for having chosen to do just that ( See Luke 10:38-42).

(Due Date: Tuesday, September 7, 2021@ 12:00PM EST)

Learning Objectives:

To understand that God created Adam, Eve, (and all of humankind) with free will or the ability to make choices, right or wrong; to understand that disobedience to God/His Word always has negative consequences; and to understand that God , in His love and graciousness, extends mercy to humankind, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ ( in this case)

Things To Do This Week:

  • Reading Assignment: Genesis 1:1;  Gen.1:20-31;  Gen 2:7-9; Gen.2:15-25; Genesis, Ch.3; Romans 5:12-19
  • Watch the video: “The Fall and Redemption”
  • Review the “Points to Remember “.
  • Answer the questions for this week’s lesson; AND SUBMIT THEM THROUGH THE LINK NO LATER THAN 12NOON EST ON Tuesday, September 7, 2021, due to the holiday.

Points To Remember:

1. God created Adam and Eve with a free will to make choices.

2. God warned Adam and Eve not to partake of “The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

3. Eve was beguiled by Satan, in the form of the serpent; and she and Adam, in disobedience to God, ate of the tree, which brought about a knowledge of, and nature of, sin and evil in them.

4. Adam’s disobedience to God’s command not to eat of the tree brought sin, death, and further judgments upon themselves, and all of humankind.

5. While God pronounced judgment against Adam, Eve, and the serpent, He also, because of His love and graciousness, spoke forth a prophecy of retribution against Satan , and one of salvation through the redemptive work of Christ to come, for all of Adam’s and Eve’s descendants of every race, throughout future generations.
